Velindre Cancer Centre:- is the largest non - surgical cancer Hospital in Wales providing Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy and other specialised anti-cancer treatments for the people of Wales. They have been providing care and support to cancer patients and their families in Wales for over 50 years.
Every year they provide care, treatment and support for over 100,000 people. Due to early detection and improved treatments the number of people in Wales living with cancer is increasing daily. It is estimated that by 2015 there will be a 30% increase in the most common forms of cancer. With the support of fundraising and donations they are determined to raise the money necessary to enable them to meet those new challenges.
Teenage Cancer Trust UHW Wales:- is to enable young cancer patients access to a specialist Teenage Cancer unit at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, which was officially opened in July 2009 by Sarah, Duchess of York and is called the ‘Skypad’.
Following a conversation with big Steve “guitarist from the Fugitives” and Ollie “bass player with Roosevelt” the idea was born to organise musical fundraising events for Velindre Breast Cancer Support and The Teenage Cancer Trust (Wales) along with other Cancer Charities, utilising the huge amount of talent established in South Wales.
During the past 6 years we have witnessed the fantastic way in which Velindre Hospital and its staff treat and support the needs of people living with cancer.
My wife, two sons and myself have been keen followers of the local bands within South Wales for a number of years.
With the help of all our friends we will do all we can to support our chosen cancer units aims and objectives whilst also supporting other Cancer Charities
